One note about the Archer N4135W, we have noticed a frequent pattern in which the performance of the plane has raised questions or concerns. Members have opened squawks and caused the plane to be down for maintenance citing low RPM on takeoff or high cylinder temperatures on climbout. In most cases the observed behavior was expected and normal.

The plane has a fixed pitch prop that will not reach 2450 RPM until the plane is rolling freely down the runway. You may not even see that number until the plane is climbing.  As the plane starts moving the angle of attack of the propeller will change and the RPM will increase. As with any piston engine plane, you need to review the POH for weight and balance and especially density altitude and wind. The POH charts will give you estimates of what to expect for takeoff distance. Once you know the expected distance you can pick your abort point down the runway. If you are not airborne or at your expected airspeed by that point, you should abort. You should monitor the RPM but it's much more important to keep your plane on the center line and just glance at your engine gauges to be sure they are in the green arc and you are rotating at the right airspeed.

Secondly this plane is known to show high CHT on takeoff and climb, reaching 420 degrees. That's actually not a concern to see that temperature, these Lycoming engines tend to run a bit higher than the 400 degrees we see for Continental. Generally you will need to pitch the nose down to give it some more airflow and cooling once you takeoff but you should not expect to be keeping that temperature below 400 during climbout. 

If you don't have your expected airspeed or takeoff by your abort point or if the CHT readings won't come down, definitely do bring it back and squawk it, but we want members to be aware of these characteristics of the plane during takeoff runs.
